Jordan Davis

She/Her

Hello :) my name is Jordan, I am a Graphic design student at Algonquin College with years of experience in high-stress, fast-paced environments. I excel in my communication and collaboration skills, allowing me to work effectively with clients and team members. I have a strong understanding of design principles, strong typography skills, and a keen eye for detail, which allows me to create visually appealing and effective designs. I enjoy crocheting, knitting, and any form of fibre arts, and I especially enjoy sketching and illustrating. In my free time, I like to go on hikes with friends and I love volunteering with youth groups acting as a mentor for at-risk youth.

Little Ghosties

This project aimed to create a polished, seamless looping GIF using animation principles like easing and timing. Starting with storyboards, we refined our designs based on peer feedback before animating in Adobe After Effects. The concept featured a fall scene with blowing leaves and playful ghosts, enhanced with a scarf animation and a hand-edited illustrative background. I achieved a dynamic, seamless loop by syncing the movements of leaves, trees, and accessories to simulate wind. The final design, delivered in 800x600 GIF and 1920x1080 MP4 formats, was praised for its creative composition, attention to detail, and accurate movement.

Beer Can Design - Cartwright Springs Brewery

The directive of this assignment was to research a local brewery and create two craft beer labels inspired by Ottawa landmarks or history. ByWard Below Zero is a reference to the year-round ByWard artisans market in downtown Ottawa. Capital Currents is a nod to the rapids of upper Ottawa, previously used as a main canoe route and while most have been drowned - some can still be found up near Mattawa!

Non-Profit Campaign Design - Christie Lake Kids

The objective of this assignment was to create a campaign for a non-profit I believe in, research and propose a design for a call-to-action or fundraiser, then, choose 3 ways to advertise the fundraiser. I have been working for/volunteering with Christie Lake Kids for a few years so I reached out to see if I could help them with a real campaign and aid them with achieving a successful outcome.  I designed social media posts, MailChimps, website assets, and a print ad for their Giving Tuesday campaign, where a sponsor was matching all donations given on Giving Tuesday. The campaign raised $28,000 pre-match, totalling $48,000, the best outcome Christie Lake Kids has ever achieved on Giving Tuesday donations!
