Hello, I am Liz Johns and I am a Creative Designer. I am passionate about creative design solutions and in my free time expressing myself through personal projects. Design has played a key role in a majority of my life and has inspired me. I have applied my interest and knowledge in design to my personal creative projects. Looping Flamingo

The project was a three second GIF that loops seamlessly to the first frame without loss in quality. The goal was to create a bright and fun GIF bringing the flamingo illustration to life. The illustration was created in Adobe Illustrator with separate layers for each moving piece that was then parented to each other in After Effects. The subtle movements were made using easing and effects like lighting were added. Overall I enjoyed illustrating and bringing the flamingo to life.
Can-Label-Design

Can Label Design - Ottawa haunted location themed beer

Beer cans were designed to be themed after two haunted locations with an important history to the city. The Saintlo Jail Hostel and Laurier house were the two locations chosen. The purple and green were chosen to contrast each other. Here you can see both designs in 3D and flat labels. The can designs were then placed on models in Cinema 4D and animated. The labels were illustrated in Adobe Illustrator and follow LCBO label guidelines. Overall I enjoyed coming up with creative concepts for the two cans and bringing them to life through illustration.

Ad-Campaign

Ad Campaign - “It Stops With Us.”

The ad campaign was for Interval House Ottawa to spread awareness to domestic abuse and offer resources. The deliverables was a short motion video, an instagram carousel, a poster and a rack card. The statistics were bold to capture the attention of the target audience and to emphasize the importance. The illustration of the dove and the cage was to represent the freedom and support received at Interval House. This project supports a very important cause that I wanted to bring attention to through shocking statistics and a focus on stopping the cycle. The message of the campaign “It Stops With Us” is about stopping the cycle of domestic abuse.
